CIBAFI — The Global Umbrella for Islamic Finance

The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) is the global umbrella body for the Islamic financial services industry, affiliated with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Established in 2001 and headquartered in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, CIBAFI represents more than 140 member institutions across over 30 jurisdictions on five continents.

CIBAFI advances the Islamic finance industry through four strategic pillars: policy advocacy and regulatory engagement, applied research and publications, professional training and certification, and awareness and information sharing. Its flagship outputs include the Global Islamic Bankers' Survey, industry reports, standards, policy briefings and submissions, and the annual CIBAFI Global Forum.
